How do I choose a Model for a child?

How do I choose a Model child?
For a child we always want the model to be easy to use and light enough to lift.
Adults usually choose a model based on where they will go and what they will search for.
Kids are happy to find anything! Even a rusty nail becomes an historical treasure in the fresh mind of a child. So specialty models suited for gold nugget hunting or deep water hunting are not necessary for most kids needs
I suggest a basic general purpose model from the low end of the line with a minimum
of adjustments required by the user

Do these really work well to find treasure?
Treasure is in the eye of the treasure hunter. To kids all items are potential
treasure. All the models I mention are able to beep in the presence of all metals and that is what we are after. The models mentioned are not toys or pretend devices.
You can usually tell a 'toy' detector by the price.I have seen many models at the
$19.95 price. These are not worth investing in for real use.

How much do I have to spend?
This is the question most often asked. Understandably you don't want to spend
overspend on a metal detector that may never get used! Buying one that actually works is good insurance that it will get some use. Models more suited to adult use can be priced all the way up to $1000.00 and more! But relax
For $75 to $200 you can get a model that will be worth buying even retain some resale value after you purchase it!
I have listed three models above for you to consider

Where can I buy?
The best place to buy remains a local dealer who can train you on the model and
support any issues which come up with it.
Many manufacturers can help you locate a local dealership.
For local dealers of White's Prizm you can search for a dealer at Whites Dealer

All the models listed above can be bought on my website online.
For the White's Prizm you will also want to check for a Local Dealer
For used models check Ebay
