of land to Hunt" You would not think there are forty people in this field! |
Trish (left), Jimmy, and David (right). Jimmy wins "Top Banana"
prize for finding a 'gold' foil covered chocolate and is Jimmy the Jester for
the day. Some would say for life! Everyone else in the background is finding real
coins and artifacts. |
At 12:30 Geoff & Sylvia arrive with the lunch. Fresh rolls, with various fillings and toppings (made fresh every morning), along with chips, fruit, cakes and beverages.

| It's lunchtime! Packed lunches are delivered to the site, freshly made each day. So good that some detectorists come in early to get first pick when the delivery arrives. | A sunny day and sunny smiles and a bite to eat after a busy morning of hunting. |
What if Your Detector Breaks Down!
What if you bring a partner who doesn't own a detector! Not to worry! I keep extra detectors on hand for such emergencies...top of the line White's unit, of course Spectrums, XLT and DFX. In the last 12 years, I have never had to use all of the spares at one time. In addition, I provide special 240 volt nicad charges for those using White's rechargeable nicads. Of course, if you prefer a backup detector, bring it along. If you use a detector other than a White's, check with your manufacturer for availability of charging systems if you use rechargeable batteries. England has 220-240 volt output not 110-120 volt as the US. Sometimes a voltage converter will work, however, US and UK cycles also differ. Check with your manufacturer.
A ragged bunch of detectorists under the flags! Left to right Keith, Trish, Brad, and Keith. What's that hanging out of Keith's pocket? Well I believe that it's our very own Chris.

The Donna Trefry prize was introduced in 2001 in memory of Donna after her untimely death. Donna traveled to England with Discovery Tours many times and was an advocate of responsible metal detecting. This prize is given, not for best find, but best all around attitude towards metal detecting. |

Another great trip completed!!
